Visas & entry

Most visitors need a visa before arriving. Here's how the eVisa works — and how we help if it doesn't.

Most nationalities must arrange a visa before travelling to Myanmar — immigration is strict, and you'll be refused entry without one. The good news is the process is straightforward and done entirely online.

The official eVisa

Apply through the government's official eVisa portal, run by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population, at evisa.moip.gov.mm. Always use the official site rather than a third-party reseller, and check the current requirements for your nationality before you book flights.

Before you apply

  • Check the official immigration website for the latest entry rules.
  • Confirm details with your country's Myanmar embassy if you're unsure.
  • Make sure your passport has at least six months' validity and a couple of blank pages.
  • Keep a copy of your approval letter to present on arrival.

Visa rules in Myanmar can change at short notice. If you hit any difficulty with your application, our Yangon team is always happy to point you in the right direction — just ask.
